Description: The bilingual English-Dutch MARLISCO Exhibition was premiered in the Netherlands at the Atrium, in the Visitor Centre of the Municipal Building, where it remained for 2 weeks. The exhibition was officially opened by the Mayor of Den Haag, Mr. Jozias Johannes van Aartsen on the 16th October 2013, together with the announcement of the winners of a photo competition launched in The Netherlands by EUCC and sponsored by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment around the theme of marine litter.
For this edition MARLISCO exhibition incorporated also other elements: a selection of the photos submitted the photo competition; 3 large sculptures conceived by the artist Willem Boer, using marine litter items and developed in a series educational workshops ran in the site and involving approximately 300 children.
It is estimated that MARLISCO exhibition reached 22.500 people during only 2 weeks!
