Description: The German MARLISCO exhibition “Mensch ∙ Müll ∙ Meer” was launched at the Meeresmuseum Stralsund on the 26th June 2014. In total, 110,174 people of all ages visited the Exhibition at this location. In addition to all the Exhibition material being available in two languages (English and German), the following elements were also added:
– An enlarged plastic bag with several litter items found during beach litter collection activities was attached to a wall.
– A children’s banner illustrating how litter items enter the sea and where the litter comes from, as well as a blackboard inviting the children to draw their own thoughts and ideas about the topic of marine litter using colourful chalk.
– The German top 10 videos of the video contest were shown in a continuous loop on a TV screen.
– A few stools in the design of the oildrums inviting adults and children to remain in front of the TV screen as well as in the exhibition room.
– A degradation time bar was drawn and stuck on the floor of the exhibition room illustrating the degradation time of marine litter items.
– A flyer for visitors to take home illustrating what everyone can do to reduce marine litter on a daily basis.
– The magazine ‘Meer&Küste’ (edition No. 5/2014) containing many different articles about the topic of marine litter was given to visitors to take home.
This location was the starting point of the exhibition’s tour throughout Germany.
