Xenia Loizidou will talk about how women make peacebuilding better, on Thursday 10 March 2016
On the occasion of the 2016 International Women’s Day, ISOTECH’s Director Xenia I. Loizidou will be one of three distinguished speakers at an event entitled “How Women Make Peacebuilding Better”, which will take place on Thursday, 10 March 2016, from 5:00-6:30 pm at the Home for Cooperation, in Nicosia.
Ms. Loizidou will talk about the innovation that women can bring into the peacebuilding process, through non-conventional forms of action, sharing examples from her work in Cyprus and our Region.
The two other speakers at the event are journalist/author/peace and gender issues activist Sevgül Uludağ, and professor of economics and gender expert Fatma Güven-Lisaniler.
The event is co-organised by UNFICYP and the Home for Cooperation, under the auspices of the Technical Committee for Gender Equality.
