Location: Cork Lifetime Lab
Date: 19 September 2014
Description: The MARLISCO Ireland Exhibition was launched at the Cork Lifetime Lab on the 19th September 2014. The launch event was integrated as part of Cork’s Culture Night, and received in excess of 150 visitors in one evening.
During the event MARLISCO staff were on hand to guide people through the perils and dangers of marine litter. Also present was the sandbox challenge, an interactive part of the exhibit where pieces of litter were hidden away in a sandbox to help start conversations with young visitors.
This location kick started the exhibition’s tour of Ireland and was resident for several weeks and seen by several school groups and public visitors to the Lab. After moving around Ireland the exhibition has taken up a second residency since March 2015 as part of the Marine Explorer’s fortnight in Ireland.
